I See I See

I don't always know what it will mean to people when I write things.  You are starting to feel pretty naked though huh?  Life, it boils down to very little really huh?  Put our faith in the American Dollar??    The market always goes up.  Hey, the Holy Roman Empire was going to be around forever too, but guess what?  It wasn't.  What coins did they use back then?  When the words were spoken "Render unto Caesar" what coin, or unit of money was being used?  I bet those coins are worth a lot of money.

Faith in Country??  ummm, where does it say that is important??  Deutschland Deutschland uber alles.  I still think today the Marshall plan was a good policy, but the Truman doctrine was stupid.  When closed minded people are the pullers of the strings, than not much will get done.  We have two choices.  Republicans and Democrats.  They are NOW as close minded as they come.  I don't know what these clowns do.  I for one would be more willing to help the poor than the rich, but I don't see we do that.  Any of you read Heimleblog.  Towards the end, when I was going after Marshall Eisley.  They were sitting on those tarp funds, while the CEO was making bank.  Um what??  Who runs a failed company and makes millions??  What a gig.  Teapartyers should be mad.  Too bad they have Sarah Palin on their side, cause she is a dimwit.  She should stick to running marathons.  She is good at that.

So you are being undressed before your very eyes.  You realize all you put your faith in is imperfect.  We have a good Constitution, but we don't use it for important things like when we go to kill people.  Who tests Nuclear bombs on secluded islands???  Whose idea was that??

I know you want to turn that mirror and point it at me, but no need.  I am as open as they come.  I close my eyes, and I feel me being open before God.  He sees it all.  Just look at yourself, it is all you need to do.  You point it at me you will lose, because I have help... for good and bad, but I have a promise that all is good.

So on this day, I am going into work to do a POG.  Once again it would be boring for 99.9 percent of the people, but I like doing it.  I sorted and counted little shit again yesterday too.  :)

I am going to go to the library after work, and not pick up a book on Poetry that is for sure.  I'll see what is there though.  Going to a party tonight too that starts at 9:00 pm.  #YIKES  #nap

That is it for today!!!   :)

Some Odds And Ends

First off, You should Read this post here.  Go to the two links she posted.  Our great country once again did some stupid stuff in the past, tried to correct the damage, and fucked up as usual.  My wife and I are going to fill up a couple boxes with school stuff from the local lumberyard today, and send it on.  NATIONALISM IS THE WORST!!!  Those who hold onto that as some kind of crutch are being stupid.  Countries in the name of Nationalism and other stupid stuff do horrible things.  Don't doubt it for a second.  Oh and yes if you hold onto it without taking the time to review the info it is a crutch.  Sorry!!  That is how I feel.

Before I read this, I was getting angry.  I had a feeling this blog was going to go postal.... AGAIN!!  Actually I am getting fired up now that I am writing.  So to put my heart at ease let me just put a little nice FUCK YOU!!  out there.  Phew... now I feel better.  :)

I added another blog to my list.  It is a girl named Alili.  She commented on Jessica's site.  "My Someday Tri Journal"  Sometimes I check out other people's sites, and sometimes not.  I checked this one out, and you know my criteria.  I see someone honest, then I check it out.  This girl is honest.  Didn't read too much about how fabulous she thought she was, but rather how hard things can be for her.  I am hooked.

The death from my mom's side is from Melanie, and Steph's little brother.  You know how much Melanie and Steph mean to me, and I also feel for Peggy the mom too.  Mom's should not have to put their kids in the ground.  I cannot imagine anything harder.  Mom's will deal, but men will bury, although from what I remember of Mr. Beaston he seemed the type to deal.  Those who bury think they are strong, but they are weak.  The tough show the weak side, the others....  not tough, and they lose respect quickly in my eyes.  Men you have a tougher road, because in most things you are the weaker sex.  :)  contrary to what you think.

So I got my phone fixed.  Our AT&T store couldn't do a damn thing, the stupid fuckers.  My friend Marco took it to a Sprint store, and they fixed it for me.  AT&T SUCKS!!  Fuck them!!  :)

My run yesterday was a fail.  I ran 9+ minutes, and walked home.  I still feel a little something, so going to take a few more days off.  I may need to use the trainer, because I am starting to feel fat.  :)  FUCK the trainer.  :)

First thing I did when I got my phone??  Wait for all the damn shit to download to my phone.  FB updates, and Twitter updates.  Should have left the stupid thing charged.  I then texted Gina.  You know what is great about her?  Not everything is always fabulous in her life.  She struggles with a lot of stuff, and tells people about it.  She is strong strong strong, because that is what life is.  It is good and it is bad.  Those who hold onto only good, or try to show only good are fake.  To those people who ONLY do that I lose interest really quickly, and life is fluid.  What may be one thing today, may not be tomorrow.  HONESTY IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!  Being less than honest, and you do someone else's work.  That is stupid!!  You have the ability to be honest, but do you have the strength??  Now let's see who is tough!!!

That is it for today!!  :)

Thanks for reading!!!  :)

p.s. it hit me the wrong way, when someone tried to communicate via the blogger e-mail back thingy on someone else's site.  I don't even know who that person was.  I never read anything he wrote, and wasn't even talking to him.  (talking lol)  I will let who I read know when I am reading them.  Usually with a comment.  I think it is good manners.  :)

Now for really really really cya cya cya!!!   Fuckers!!!   :)

What Should I Do With This Entry???

hmmmmm.  well, maybe I will do a list.  Where do I get these ideas from??   ;)

  • Today is a run day!!!   :)
  • I may do speed... all depends on how my shin feels after my loop.
  • I really want to do speed, but I will listen to my body.
  • I had fun yesterday, after work, but was bored at work.
  • My phone will finally be fixed today or tomorrow.  :)
  • Do you think hospitals add more tests if they know a person is coming in with a work injury??
  • Anything to make a buck huh??   ENRON
  • Not that I am cynical or anything.
  • We have had 1000 mph sustainable winds for like the last 10 years here in Holland.
  • perhaps I ... how the hell do you spell exaggerate???   Oh thanks spell checker.
  • I watched part of Grease last night.  I want to watch it again.  :)
  • What would life be like if there was no such thing as money?
  • Does it seem silly that some people judge people by how much of that they have?
  • I don't think Gandhi had much.  You know who else didn't?  Don't remember him  ever having a job.
  • Thoreau had it right... kinda.  There must be more to life than the day to day.
  • Those are the most interesting thoughts, I think.
  • I cannot read poetry... Cannot even understand it.
  • I am not going to read Emma from Jane Austen.  Won't get through it.
  • "Adaptation" was a good movie.  Nicholas Cage, and Meryl Streep, and some dude who reminds me of Billie Bob Thorton.
  • There was a sudden and unexpected death on my Mom's side of the family.  car crash.
  • I will leave the names out to respect the privacy.
  • One other thing of the trainer.  None of my races use the bike.  no picture in my mind of a race.
  • Also not particularly interested in losing weight.
  • With that in mind, indoor riding loses some of it's mojo.  if ya know what I mean.  :)

You know life is pretty great if you can take the stupid stuff out of the equation.  No I am not talking of my brother John, and Jeff Stark.  I am talking other stuff.  :)  j/k

That is it for today!!!   :)

Thanks for reading!!!  :)

Hope Everyone has a Great and Awesome Day!!!  :)

I know not every one will.  Sorry for your loss.  Loss is real personal huh?  Grief is dealt together with those who share in it, and the one who helps us deal.  This is your grief.  It will hurt, but you will have help, and it is these times where you learn about yourself, and life, and what it all amounts to, and everything really.  God will be with you.  :)

Oh Dear

Well, My friend Mike has gone off the deep end.  There is no helping him.  He signed up for Ironman Louisville.  UGH!!  No turning back now.  It isn't like he just dropped $25 down for a race.  SHEESH!!  For me, it was something out there.  If you segment it into what it is, neither is not undoable, but the totality of it!!!  The time and dedication.... WOW!!

Mike is a good swimmer.  He'll have to get his biking down, as that took a back seat this year, but gotta try I guess.  Not for me that is for sure.  :)  Good Luck Good Luck!!

We got a little run in last night.  There was just 4 of us.  Bob and Helen, and the funny teacher lady.  She was the one who was cracking us up when we went out for beers during one of our winter runs.  I forget her name, but man is she funny.  Bob, and I just went out, and did what must have been a 4 mile loop, and the other 2 did their thing.  I guess Bob is going to do Boston in the Spring.  I was surprised, didn't know he wanted to.  He has a 3:10 on his wish-list, but once again he is 3:00 fast.  Good Luck!!

I really don't have too much today I guess.  I started watching a movie called "Shrink" last night.  It is with Kevin Spacey.  It seems really good, and actually realistic as far as life in Hollywood would be.  True life stuff that happens to people.  Believe it or not behind the glamour real life goes on.  Can you imagine the pressure of these people?  Their lives are fabulous to us all.  The pressure to make it ALWAYS look that way.  YIKES!!  No one's life is always perfect.  To put up a charade is not only unhealthy, but dangerous really.  That which we try to show as our good side at the expense of the bad side is really hiding a cancer.  You hold the cancer up to the light it dies.  You bury it, and it spreads, and you become worse off.

Hmmmm!!  Where does this come from???  Out of nowhere.  :)    That is our journey to rid ourselves of our cancer.  Expose us to the light, and we find our way to becoming clean.  :)

That is it for today!!!   :)

I Suck At Staycationing!!!

You would think having 9 days off I would get a ton of crap done around the house huh?  umm no.   Holy Crap, do I suck at staycationing.  I read some, watched some movies, hung out a bit, listened to some music, made Lisa cook all the meals, and do all the cleaning.  ;)

On Thursday I think... I ran a little 6 miler, and felt a little something something in my shin.  Maybe it was Friday.  I have so much confidence in my legs right now I feel like I can run almost every day.  I felt my shin like I said.  The only injury I ever get.  Kinda like a shin splint.  So I took 3 days more off, and am running tonight.  No long runs this weekend like planned, but I am not afraid to take a few days off here, just so I don't miss a month there.  Actually you know me... blessing in disguise.  I feel like maybe my legs are now rested up, so it can train for speed, not endurance.  Marathon you train to go slowish for a long time.  I am going for a 5K now.  I want to go fast for a short period.  You know the caveat (is that even the right word???)  fast for me.

So here is the plan.  Tuesday night run downtown Holland.  Usually 6 miles.  Saturday or Sunday go long with Jim and Jerry.  Really don't need to do much more than 10 miles.  I have to add a speed day.  My speed day will be like my 4 or 6 mile route, followed by 4-1.25 mile repeats.  The 4 or 6 mile route can even be cut down to 2-3 miles too.  Guess it all depends on the legs.  I am so used to 10 mile workouts so who knows.  Maybe my legs aren't ready for that right now.  Add a day here and a day there.  piece 'o cake!!  :)

Anyway you want to know what??  I am pretty excited about 5K training.  Let's face it most of my time is distance training, so this is like all brand new.  I am ready to get at it.  This is the little shit that makes life fun for me.  I am a nut, and I am looney as they come.  I say that as fun, although I totally totally believe in my direction. How about 5K training after marathon training?  That is totally something different.  It is like a whole new world.  ME ME ME always got a race on my mind I am training for.  Keeps everything fun.  :)

Like I said before, and maybe I will say again you never know.  This is fun for me.  I do this for fun.  It is fun.  I put myself on the line to do as good as I can given my circumstances.  I will never be a huge mileage guy.  That being said, My last non-100 mile month was 1 year ago.  I am probably like 16/17 100 mile months in a row.  I build a bigger and bigger base for improvement.  Next stop 5K Thanksgiving.

I got that!!!    :)

That is it for today!!!   :)

Thanks for reading!!!   :)

Hope Everyone has a Great and Awesome Day!!!   :)

p.s. I slept til like 12:30 tonight, or rather stayed in bed.  Luckily my sleep patterns are as normal as they come.  Oh another thing Lisa and I watched "She's All That" last night.  Good movie.... still.  I need to get "Serendipity" sometime now too.  :)

Well, I Am Up For Some Reason Anyway

I don't really feel like blogging to be honest, but I am up anyway, so guess I will.  I went out searching for some input yesterday, and got it.  Gina, and N-O-T came through as always.  I see the direction, and I see how it is going.  I guess you want input, but you have everything you need.  You just have to keep your eyes and ears open.  The important ones.  Your spiritual ones.  I have a feeling you are looking for meaning.  Is what I do important??  Tough stuff to look at huh??  We are headed somewhere though.  I have a feeling a big ginormous step will happen when I suffer like that butterfly.  Gina said yesterday she hoped I was wrong, and that made her sad.  Why I don't know.  You do remember I have to suffer right, as bad as anything I can imagine is my guess.  One thing I wonder about is will it be like the other times, where I am suffering suffering, but on the inside.  No one can see it, but only God and I know what is happening??  I think others will share in the suffering though.  I think I will not be alive except for inside some of you.  EEEEEEKKKKK!!!   This is so much I know.  I had a dream a few nights ago... maybe a week ago.  I "told" N-O-T about it.  Basically said be careful what you say, because others are listening.  So I will not tell you why it has to be this way.  Doubt you are even ready for what I am writing here.

I want to know what you are thinking...  please.   o.k.??  please!!

On the lighter side, yesterday I chatted via gmail with our old Hardware manager, and hung out with the old Millwork manager.  Each were part of the Miller Lite Gang.  The Miller Lite gang consisted of Doug M.  (Millwork Manager)  Greg T.  (Hardware Manager) Me (Plumbing Manager)  and Brian, Lisa's brother.  Just a few years of general tomfoolery is all.  A ton of funny stories, but Greg and I talked about one early, and Rob Roy  (Doug) brought it up later.

First off when Doug first started I could never remember his name, so one day I called him Rob.... Roy.... or whatever the heck your name is.  Rob Roy was his name since.  Sometimes when I look to call him I can never find him on my phone.  I type in Rob.... Roy..... SHIT!!  I don't have his #.  Then I remembered his name is Doug, and that is where it is.  :)

Anyway one day some Oriental guy walks in with a whole old piece of shit storm door.  He wants to fix it.  I think wtf???  I bring him to Doug, because he sells storm doors.  I then leave, cause I don't want to deal with that horseshit.  Doug brings him to Greg.  No one has anything for this guy.  Just buy a new damn door.  SHEESH!!  Greg being the good manager he is brings him over to me after all this.  He says "Steve is the manager he'll have what you need."  He is laughing laughing laughing under his breath.  I will not lose this battle.  To Greg's surprise I say, "Yeah I have what you need."  Greg follows along.  I bring him to the Class A Pipe aisle.  (for wood burning chimneys)  I show him this $47.99 chimney cover for a Class A chimney.  I say, "this should do it right here."  I do it with a straight face, and Greg just loses it.  The guy had a weird look on his face, and I with a straight face, just throw it in his cart, and say,  "There you go"  He didn't buy it, but man did we laugh.  We screwed around a lot in between our work.  Holy Crap!!  :)

That is it for today!!!   :)

Short Update

I was re-reading my blogs.  Mostly the Journey.  For the heck of it.  There is a lot of stuff in my mind going on.  I wonder what is going on in yours.  That is what I am mostly curious about.  I am nervous at times, but I had a thought yesterday.  This shit is almost done.  Not much to do.

I will still be here, but I will be different.  Gina saw what I am to be.  It is a spiritual thing, so not really literal.  Really really weird though if thought of literally.  It is why I don't tell anyone.  Gina is the only one I told, although I think I let it slip in the blog somewhere.

It was on the day of my 76 mile bike ride I think.  She kept saying, "Do you see it??"  "Do you see it now??"  I said no, no, no to every time she asked.  Then I knew.  I told her, it is me.  My heart now is excited it is almost over, because you know it was pretty hard.  That being said, you know what??  I am alive, I am healthy, I am strong, honest, and still pretty darn happy.

I miss Gina.  We haven't talked in forever.  She is great!!  I am here for everyone though.  She is definitely one of my bestest!!!  fo sho!!!!    :)

That is it for today!!!   :)

Name Something You Will Find In Your Sock!!!

Your Answer??

Peanut Butter Sandwich!!

Good Answer, Good Answer, Good Answer...clap, clap, clap

Peanut Butter Sandwich??  (eyes rolled, as he kisses the pretty girl not answering question)

#1 Answer!!

We spent parts of our lives watching that crap???   really???   UGH!!!    :)

I really have one thing I wanted to say today.  A person anonymously made the blog during "The Journey".  It was an exchange of FB messages.  She has gone through a hard year +.  We became really good friends just by having things in common.  She worked out a lot, and I did.  We would post music, and you know we just clicked.  As it would be during some of her tough days we would have contact here and there.  She even has a song that ALWAYS makes me think of her.  It is an ELO song from the Discovery CD.  "Midnight Blue".

Anyway, I remember one night being really really important.  She was having a tough night.  Crying and all.  For once admitting before God she was not strong enough to do it all.  I was at Beau and Charity's house, and I knew this was an important moment.  Don't ask me how, but I knew she had to reach that step.  It was also the same night that girl Summer told me she was sad.  I knew that was important for her too.  I only met Summer twice.  Both times it seems like we could talk.

I don't know, I just wanted you to know that.  I will leave the other name out, but she is from my H.S.  She was a year younger.  Really a lot of stuff popped up in her life over the last year.  She is strong, and she will get through it, but I totally wanted to put that on this blog.  Life is full of stuff.

Anyway, that really is all I wanted to say.  On Wednesday I did get another 3.13 miler in @ 8:40'ish pace.  I forget.  I think I am going running again today too.  A little later though.  I forget on Saturday's I don't have to wake up early to run anymore.  You always forget about that.  I know today is Friday, but just sayin...  :)

Anyway, that really is it for today!!!   :)

Thanks for reading!!!   :)

Hope Everyone has a Great and Awesome Day!!!   :)

OMG am I bored...

So I guess I will blog???

Sure, why not.  What should I blog about???  Good Question.   hmmmmmmmm...... let's see.

We'll just start writing and see where it goes.  I am fully recovered from my marathon.  I am ready to do a long run this weekend, and ready to add speed work next week.  Want to know something I learned about my latest marathon???  I think I lost some fitness.  How does that happen??  Pretty weird.  You know I always paid attention to the stud triathletes.  They take time off, I take as very little as possible.  They work harder than me though, so I think it all equals out probably.  That is my guess.

Lisa and I went to DeBoer Bros. for lunch today, and saw the whole DeBoer clan- less Mitch.

Do you remember when I told you about the girl who got ran over in a car last winter???  She smashed her pelvis, and broken ribs, and stuff.  I saw her at the Aquatic center.  I saw her a lot this autumn, and summer.  Guess what???   She ran Grand Rapids, and qualified for Boston.  She passed me on the trail.  I was not in a good way, but I gave her a big high five.  What a battler.  I was, and am so happy for her.  We stopped a couple times in the middle of our runs to talk here and there.  Totally Totally forgot her name.  Also at Grand Rapids there were a couple girls  from the group who I was faster than, but they ran sub 3:50, beat me, and qualified for Boston too.  That was their goal.  Pretty impressive.  Everyone has their own goals.  Some hit, and some don't.

I am thinking for my 5K training I am going to do my 1.25 mile repeat more than the track.  No real reason why, but figure it might be o.k.

I am totally going to wake up early tomorrow I bet, and hope I have something to write about, but who knows.

I went and read some of my previous posts.  Really really really hard to tell what you think of it.  All will work out.  My guess is you all battle with yourselves about stuff.  That is normal.  Showing the imperfect stuff is hard, but we are ALL full of it.  The imperfect stuff that is.  What is perfect though???  Yes, your answer is right.  We don't know.  I think the important thing is to judge yourself, as to what you view perfection to be.  Can you live up to your own standard???  no.   Do unto others.  You don't live up to yours, and others don't live up to theirs.   Do not judge, lest you be judged.   right???  :)

I know this is not my normal time to blog, but did it anyway.  I really have nothing better to do.  :)

I am listening to the Grease CD.  :)

I am on track 22????   wth????

That is it for.... TONIGHT!!!!   :)

Hope everyone is having, and had a Great and Awesome Day!!!   :)

Bark like a dog, and bark on a tree!!

Was that your idea??  I have my eyes on you!!!   for that, if for no other reason.  :)

So, I am back at it.  I got a little bit of a run in.  3.13 route, and like 9:10 pace or something I forget.  The slower part of the marathon gave me a quick recovery.  So I took advantage.  I know and you know I bonked.  It seems racing eats up more of the reserves than just regular long runs.  I didn't really know that.  I fueled up like I normally do, and actually probably a bit more than usual, but bonked.  Lesson learned.  You all know that after a while those gels are about the last thing you want.  UGH!!!  :)  I should have bought some more of the candy type refuelers for the race.  Also some type of caffeine thing.  MAN DID I WANT ENERGY TO THE MIND!!  :)

For the heck of it, I also went on a little 8 mile bike ride on my "work" bike.  Just for fun.  It was a nice day out, and it was nice to be outside.  I should have brought water, because I was thirsty, but oh well.

I really don't have much today to be honest, but you know, I am up early, and this is what I do.  :)

With that I leave you with your own thoughts!!!   :)

That is it for today!!!   :)

Thanks for reading!!!  :)

Hope everyone has a Great and Awesome Day!!!  :)

p.s.  Here is a post from a blog I read about dietary supplements and how to get info.  I would imagine most of the readers read her, and if you don't your nuts!!  :)   Anyway if you are into supplements you should check it out, and do research.  No one else is.   :)  It is your body!!   :)

p.p.s  I have made mistakes, and make mistakes.  I really appreciate the forgiveness and understanding that seems to come my way a lot.  :)   You All Rock!!!   :)

Couldn't Wait til Tomorrow

The running thing was a figure of speech.  The two High School friends are in chronic pain, and I totally don't remember all the reasons.  Not everyone runs, and I know that.  I do that though.  Also my niece Marilynn with the type 1 Diabetes is not able to do all she would like.  So appreciate the days where you don't have chronic pain.  Everyone likes to do different stuff.  Do it with all your heart, and enjoy.

There is reading, art, walking, Yoga, skiing, you know all sorts of things, Education too.  I didn't want you to think running is the end all of everything, but appreciate all you can do, because some are less fortunate, and cannot do what you can.

That was really all I meant.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.  :)

xo's!!!   :)

Hamstring. More string cheese or more ham???

Yeah, I have absolutely no idea where I am going with this entry.  I am up early, so I figure I might as well blog.

I will start off with a movie I watched.  It was "The Killing Fields".  It was a story of a reporter in Cambodia who got the real story out of our illegal bombing in Cambodia.  Why do we even have declarations of war in the constitution if we don't use it?  Stupid right.  Well anyway our great nation decided to bomb those Cambodians to help relieve pressure in South Vietnam.  Nixon assumed North Vietnam was using the Cambodian border to cross into South Vietnam.  I don't know the whole story, I should read a book or two about it.  All I know is tons of innocent civilians died.  The Khmer Rouge were nuts, and it caused suffering.  Nixon retired playing golf in a life of luxury.  I wonder if these people even realize what they do?

The end of the movie they played John Lennon's "Imagine" song.  Imagine there's no country, it isn't hard to do. Now that would not happen as things are now, but it does seem a lot of stupid killing goes on all the time.  It is against the law for a person to kill another person, but when we as a country do it, it is honorable??  I know wars start for all kinds of different reasons, but probably the main one is the systems we have set up are not perfect, and they probably SUCK!!  Yet we hold on to the belief that it is all great.  If people starve, and people live in poverty, then no, our systems suck.  We have laws that aren't followed.  Our jails are filled with people who have done something with marijuana, when actually unenforced anti-trust laws create more harm and more misery, than anything else.  Throw those fuckers in jail.  The breakers of the law, and the ones who don't enforce them.  Better yet,  vote them into office.  :)  lol

Holy Buckets do I have issues or what???   :)   lol

SHIT maybe I should have told about my other movie.  Johnny English.  That was funny.  :)

So, I have more movies I can watch.  Lisa gave me 3 books that are each 847,000 pages long.  She has crap she wants me to do, and which I don't want to do.  I think I am going to run a little soft 3 miler today.

Special shout out to my running group, because they help me in all my running too.  I didn't mention it yesterday, but "the bloggers" and the running group help me out a lot.  OBVIOUSLY.  Thanks Alan, and all my running friends who make this shit fun fun fun!!   :)

I guess that is about it today!!!   :)

Thanks for reading!!!   :)

Hope Everyone has a Great and Awesome Day!!!  :)

Love You All!!  :)

p.s. special shout out to Faith and Laura from my high school.  I take running for granted, but they would love to be able to do what I can.  I hope for all my races I can realize people watch, and they are not always capable of doing what we do.  So run if you can, because there are others out there who cannot.  Let's hope we do a better job of not taking things for granted.  :)

Thanks all you really are the best!!!  :)

The Plan- The Execution

I think you know my plan.  Hit 13.1 comfortably.  Click off miles, and finish strong.  I wasn't going to look at the time too much, just listen to my breathing.  Mile 1 was 8:18 with the brakes on, and at mile 4 my average was 8:30's.  This was easy, and I did not look at my watch til mile 13.  I was at 1:51.  I felt good, and I felt good about my marathon.  I may have made a mistake at mile 14, but I don't think it really mattered.  I picked up the pace a bit for a couple miles, and clicked it back down.  I got my breathing under control, and everything was fine.  Something happened though.  I'll call it mile 18, and the legs turned to cement.  I was mentally fatigued, and I knew the rest of this day was going to suck.

I don't think I ran a bad race.  I stuck to my plan pretty well, it just didn't end up being my day.  Those 8 miles were soooo  freaking long.  Really it seemed the miles clipped off every 2-1/2 days.  I was like SHIT!!!  Is it Christmas yet??   :)

Jerry was with me from mile 18 on.  Poor guy.  I was able to draw on experience.  I knew from my first marathon that a slow run is better than a fast walk.  I kept running.  I learned from Bob's marathon too.  I walked the aid stations.  I don't normally do that.  On this course from now on I am bringing music.  I don't care what the fast people do.  This course has paved trails basically, and 14-25 miles is very low spectators.  Hard to be in your head that long when you are mentally fatigued, and still trying to move your legs.  :)  I was crabby toward the end.  :)   I made the final turn.  I looked at my clock, and realized I could still break 4 hours.  I kicked it the final whatever, and broke 4 hours.  You know before I started reading blogs that would have been my goal.  I am better than that now, but not on race day this time.

My final 8 miles were slow, so I can probably get my recovery run in tomorrow, and get back to training this week.  I have a 5K coming up, and I need to train for that.  This is a good time of season for me.

I won't lose any sleep over this.  The thing about running, FOR ME, is there are always other races, and I love love love the training for the races.  I'd love to p.r., but it didn't happen for me this time.

The Sun always rises the next day.  Usually after I finish my blog entry.  :)

That is it for today!!!   :)

Stuff!! :)

You know I do hold the people whose blogs I read under a different light.  They are a bright light.  They are Anne Frank to me you know?  They share their thoughts, hopes, dreams, fears, insecurities, accomplishments, successes, failures.  They show the good and bad.  Blogging is pretty intimate in that way.  It was funny because after Bayshore, I put on my blog.  I could tell a story of everyone, but let them start their own blog, you know I would probably read it.  I guess blogging, and being open is not the easiest thing huh?  Not for everyone.

I typically write about people I work with, people I run with, people I have a lot of contact with.  I sometimes feel like I shouldn't put people's names on this thing, but I do.  I just do what comes naturally, and that comes naturally.  :)

Many times throughout the day I feel insecure.  I feel like people don't like me.  That is pretty normal for me.  Sometimes when I write I feel people will take offense.  I am imperfect though.  I get mad, I fail.  I do things people may not like, and on this thing I tell you about it.  I already opened up to one tonight and they know, but now I'll open up to you.  I don't always feel it, but since I read Anne Frank, I liked her.  I bet people who read me probably like me, because I think I am pretty honest on this thing.  I don't always feel it though.  That is just normal though.  I love it when people update on FB a lot.  I think it is awesome.  Silly little updates rock, because why not right.  If you are a guy you are screwed, you won't get a lot of comments.  :)   Girls typically get more, but who cares.  Throw yourself out there I say.  God knows you.  He knows you are not perfect, so don't pretend to others right.  I think we all have a colorful jacket, but some are afraid to put it on.  Put it on, and go on dancing.  Life's a dance right??

I am running a marathon today, and I could care less.  Big deal.  I have one major goal as the day is here.  Feel good through miles 20-26.2.  It will be my 5th marathon.  All done at the age of 40+.  Since it is my 5th one, and since I put a lot of miles in year over year,  I still am like big deal.  One of the bloggers I read, one of the original 4 is running one today, and I hope she does really really well.  She is really really tough, but fragile.  If she breathes out the wrong lung, she'd probably break her tibia.  She'd finish her run with the broken tibia though, and then get it checked out.  :)  It is important to her, so I wish her the best.  :)

That is just for the idea I am running a marathon.  What I really think is this is still fun.  I get to run with other people.  A milestone for some.  Some going for P.R.'s.  nervous etc...  I am not nervous just want to have fun.  What is not fun of this?   A long run, with beer at the end.  Sharing it with some of my closest running buds. :)

Predictions...  I would say between 3:35 and 3:45.  A lot better chance of me getting over 3:45 then me hitting 3:35 though.

Oh, Tuesday I rocked the track.  I have no idea where that came from.  5:00, 4:59, 4:53, on the 1200's.  6:37 pace.  What the heck???  Weather looks good today for a fun fun day.  I hope all you have fun too.  :)  Enjoy the day, enjoy your life.  Take your dog for a walk.  Appreciate the trees, a river, grass, flowers.  There is a lot for us to see.  I'd rather look at that then my stupid electric bill.  Need to bury that piece of shit.  :)

That is it for today!!!   :)

Guess I Should Update!!

First off for those readers who are not bloggers.  FB was a total Blogging thing.  I know.  I didn't think it was a big deal.  Weird FB and Twitter updates.... but whatevs, and then I realized what they were.  I could care less about that shit.  The disrespect however.

I explained to Jeff Stark it was a blogging thing, and I told blogger N-O-T the names of the bloggers who did something.  Not what they did.

Let me show you character.  A guy at work named Gordon, and I got into it first thing in the morning yesterday.  I gave him a bit of hell for something I thought he does a shitty job at. Answering the fricken radio.  He took offense and told me to fuck off.  Character.

Some other dude from work was complaining to other employees about me swearing.  I explained to him, my swearing, in this instance, and in most instances is a "oh fuck, I don't know how those work or whatever."  He turned white, and said "Oh, I dont' care."  "I didn't complain."  As something as easy as that he lied to me.  I was like huh??  Really.

Character- my real mom after assumingly reading part of the Journey??   perhaps, had the character and courage to wish me well on my marathon.  Not knowing how I'd react.   Character.  Made me proud to be a Chihak, and a Pejchl.  I feel I do the names proud.

That is it for today!!!   :)

Hope a lot of you have a Great and Awesome Day!!!   :)

you know, you should check out Nancy O'Toole's update.  Very honest.  She works so hard, and was not as successful on a test as she would have liked.  Told us.  How about that?  I told you she was a good blogger.  Character.  :)

Rubber Blades and Razor Bands...

Your Choice, it is buy one get one free day!!  :)

I was going to go somewhere with this entry, but decided against it.  SHEESH!!  Life sure can be scary at times huh.  I mean poor Anne Frank.  We have it pretty good.  I wish her life was better, because reading her, I liked her.  She was a pretty great person.  People should write more I think.  It is good for them.  maybe??  I think so.

Man I laugh so hard sometimes throughout the day, because life is just zany.  I cried yesterday too.  I saw a monarch butterfly dying.  He was hanging on for dear life.  Holding onto this flower stem.  Using everything within his power to stay on.  A slight wind would make him struggle.  I knew his or her outcome.  He looked like a flag.  I cried, because it was sad seeing the poor butterfly suffer.  We'll all see some sad stuff, and I hope you won't be sad and cry, because I think I might.  Those who I get to know that is.

I don't know I guess sometimes things can be sad.  The Joseph Heller days are pretty fun, but at times we see something that is sad.

I don't really have much today to be honest.  :)

I guess that is it for today!!!   :)

Thanks for reading!!!   :)

Marathon Blurbs.... more?? Let's See!!! :)

You know I didn't think I ever watched a marathon before, but I did watch the one I got injured for.  Grand Rapids.  So Yesterday was my 2nd.  It was pretty fun.  We just rode our bikes around, Who knows how many miles?  That was probably the funnest part.

I saw Blogger Jen once.  Thought about tripping her, but decided against it. :)  I think I saw her at mile 9, and omg was it hot out there.  She'll write all about it, but she gutted out her 3:21 something.  I will tell you that.  I didn't realize how hot it was out there until the end.  Our areas we scouted out were shady, so we were pretty comfortable.  :)  Runners didn't always look too comfortable.  Some looked o.k. though.  I think maybe some people are born with the ability to handle heat a bit better than others.... maybe??  Elite times were still crazy fast.

We saw Bob like 5 times.  He ran a 3:18???  maybe something like that.  He did Bayshore and Chicago this year.  lol.  I told him the next one he should pick should be Alaska in January.  With his luck it'd only be 65 degrees.  :)

There were several people who have run with our group pacing.  I am sure they did fine.  I didn't check their times, because... they were pacing.  Who cares right??  They will be pacing again next week.  Don Kern throws the shindig, so he won't be pacing, but the others will use it as training, and as fun.

I am pretty much totally decided about concentrating on having fun at GR next weekend. I won't look at my watch probably except for at mile 1, when I realize I shouldn't be running 3-minute miles, and I should slow down.  :)  Maybe check it at the half.  I am going to just watch people keep it easy, and if I feel good at the end maybe kick it a bit.  It always feels good to feel strong at the end.  :)  I'll let you know my time when I am done.  :)

So yeah, yesterday was fun.  Bob looked like he had a really good day.  He started struggling probably at 19.75.  I guess he was slowing down to 8's for the last 6 + miles.  It had nothing to do with his speed, but just the dang heat.  What can you do?  He still looked good at 25, and was fine at the end.  I guess he puked at the end, but then we all went out to have lunch and stuff.

It was fun!!!   :)

That is it for today!!!   :)

Oh For Fuck's Sake!!! :)

I lost my fricken ball to my phone.  SHIT SHIT SHIT!!!  NO GWEETS FOR ME TODAY???  Look out World.  :)

I am gonna visit Jen Parker Harrison.  WOOT!!!  It is going to be fricken hot in Chicago.  Tough day for her.  I told her to use Bob.  Bob ran Bayshore.  Bayshore was hot hot hot.  Bob ran Bayshore, and now he will be strong for this shit in Chicago.  FUCK!!   GONNA BE A HARD DAY for them.  :)

She will see Bob, and she will see IN PERSON Alan and me.  No big deal if you ask me, but I guess if we write we become rockstarish.  :)  Why the fuck that is I know not.  :)  Jeff Stark likes seeing his name on this thing.  weirdo!!  :)

Hung out with Kragt yesterday.  He is so funny!!  :)  He is prolly still up partying, and I have already slept.  :)  Youngsters!!!  :)

Last year during the Maize and Blue game Cathy had her kids dressed up in Maize and Blue.  Barbara and her Dad went to MSU.  Poor Barbara.  :(    Why would she go to MSU, when it seems she didn't even like her DAD???  BOOOO!!    She did.  He had issues.  He was closed.  He buried, and we all know love no livee in the dark.  It livee in the light.  Barbara will live in the light.  Too late for her dad.  BOOOOOOO!!

omg LIFE is so absurd!!! :)

I don't really have too much today, so just gonna wing it.  Yesterday was absolutely absurd.  Well, at work I did something I like to do.  Sort and count little stuff.  Outlets and Switches.  :)  I went to College and got a degree in Business Administration, so yeah, I am smart enough to do a good job at that.  :)  I know I know, why do I like to do that?  Who knows.  The aisle looks so neat when it is done.  I sure wish I cared what my house looked like.  :)

So anyway I hung out with Jacob, and omg would he make a good twitterer.  I get there and he tells me about house quotes, door quotes,  he thinks thinks thinks hmmm what else is going on, and who knows what he tells me.  I thought right away, oh that is twitter stuff for sure.  :)

We took a bit of a walk with his baby.  We went to the secluded park right by his house.  Do you guys remember that??  I think that was the day I met the man who lost his wife of 60 years or whatever.  Remember I had that 5K, and just missed breaking 22:00 again.  I came home, and was by myself.  Remember what I had to do???  I had to take some of his sadness.  It was too much for him.  It all has to be dealt with, and that was my job.  I have done that with some of you.  Do you know that?  It isn't because you aren't strong like I said it is because sometimes you have too much going on.  This is what you folks will be looking at now.  It will be hard, but that was my Journey, and that is yours.  Everyone has sadness in them, because life is nothing but ABSURD!!!   I love you all though o.k.  We will get through this.  It seems strange that sadness all has to be accounted for.  We bury it, and pretend what we do is important.  You know what is important???  The stupid crap we do.  FB is important.  Stupid updates are important, because Joseph Heller made us laugh, but Howard Zinn made us look.  They both go hand in hand.

I could go on and on, but God is going to lead you on this little journey o.k.  It is you and him.  Trust him o.k.  He knows what he is doing.  It is you and him.  That is how it is.  :)

Today I am going to watch the Michigan State/ Michigan game at New Holland with Brian Kragt.  He is the guy who ran a 4:43 mile with the only training being Ultimate Frisbee.  He didn't show up the day Johnny said "I got this"  Brian and I have been friends since he started.  I was the Wallcoverings manager, and he was about 3'4".  Now he is 16'5"  Holy crap did he grow.  His mile was the most graceful thing I ever saw.  Johnny's was the toughest mile I ever saw.  Pretty cool stuff.  I hope Beau and Charity can make it, if not no biggie.

I remember the last Michigan State/ Michigan game.  :)

That is it for today!!!   :)

Thanks for reading!!!   :)

A Note To One...

and a note to all...

It is 2:35 am, and I am ready to start my day.  The note to one is the note to the one in a Foreign Country.  When you lie to me, you set off a chain of reactions that = brutally honest.  I have dark dark dark stuff inside of me, that I would just as well leave between myself and God.  Those who follow me on Twitter, or fake follow me will see that.  Open and honest we go forward.  Lie we go backwards, and bury we go nowhere.  To be honest though this thing is going.  We cannot go backwards anymore, but you can slow us down a bit.  Perhaps it was needed.

Some of you know why I am a butterfly now.  Why I wear this jacket (personality) of many colors.  It is fun... it is great, and I get to laugh laugh laugh.  Now some of you know the darker part underneath.  What I would really want.  You remember my post in the Journey... toward the end.  Okay??

To the others.  I see the efforts.  I applaud you for them, and I want to come, but I am going to need just a tad bit more.  I don't know why.  Consider me a vampire... if you will.  You need to invite me.  :)  I have been there before, so you know the end is fine.  Trust me.  It won't be any harder than what Jen H. had to go through.  She is pretty tough, and pretty courageous.  OKAY??

When you touch me, you disappear for a bit.  You will probably feel silly and embarrassed, but you will come back.  I see the outcome in people.  Trust me, it is good.  I had someone touch me... figuratively speaking of course... last week, and she still hasn't come back.  She will though.  It takes a little time.  Courage sometimes comes in the form of not feeling very brave.  Remember me saying no to a promotion with fear and trembling, as opposed to being strong.  That was courageous, although I felt silly.

Those who want to read the Journey have at it.  I know for sure my real Mom wanted to read it, and she is the only one I really wanted to hide it from to be honest.  You know why, but she can see it now.

So there.  It is now 2:45 am.  I don't know what time I went to bed.  I drank a lot last night, and I feel fine.  I feel like a million bucks.  Everything is possible folks.  Remember Samson had a bunch of strength.  I have a ton of energy, and you have no idea why.  Most things in the bible are hard to understand for you, because they are spiritual.  I have been on Job's journey.  Remember the suffering he went through before the happy times??  Well I won't explain that.

I will give you something really interesting though.  Moses... was a type of him who was to come.  His was a foreshadowing of the one who suffered at the hands of men.  You do know passover and Easter are at the same time right??  Aren't they???

I hope that helps in some way.

That is it for today!!!   :)

Thanks for reading!!!  :)

Hope Everyone has a Great and Awesome Day!!!  :)

now for really really cya cya.  :)

I wanna be open for all to see.  Can you feel the light???  I can.... still some stuff though.  :)

The more you let out = the more freedom.   :)

back to your regularly scheduled music.  :)

The Calender They Used During the Stone Age...

Made of Paper or Pomegranates??  These are some of the things I think about!!!  :)

Let's start with the workout.  It was just 2-12:00's.  You know 12:00's still are hard.  Even if you aren't busting a gut.  Well, we had the speed talker with us on this run.  You all know him... or a lot of you previous blog readers anyway.  Rick G... of Comrades fame.  He talked the whole way of us running 7:30's.  Us medium fast people couldn't get a word in edge-wise.  We didn't want to going at that pace though.  Ha Ha!!!  :).  He did give me an idea though for my marathon.  Pickle juice instead of salt water.  I love pickle juice.  I love it love it love it.  Should I try it before I run the marathon.  On another planet perhaps, but I have a stomach of iron on this one.  :)  So gonna wing it.  :)  I hope I don't drink it all before the start though.  :)   Yep I like it that much.

First one I used the girls as pacers.  The mile was at like 7:27 by my watch.  The 2nd one I was a bit ahead of the group, and our mile was at 7:40 maybe???  You know I don't remember, but I busted it a bit the last lap and a half, and still went just as far as 7:30 pace.  It was a bit hot and humid out last night too.  I was surprised.  I am going to check Chicago's weather.  I think it should be o.k.  I think it might get pretty warm, but hopefully not too warm at the 3:10 mark.  Rick said the sun is supposed to beat down.  Those last miles have blacktop, so that might be worrisome.  Sometimes the weatherman has control of these things, so everyone will do their best.

I guess I'll just be bopping around on my "work" bike during the marathon, so I will be everywhere.  :)  Woo Hoo!!  :)  Pretty exciting.  I only have a 9 miler left on Saturday, and we are done.  A little here and a little there.

Anything else?????   no, I guess not!!  :)

I guess that is it for today!!!   :)

Thanks for reading!!!   :)

Hope Everyone has a Great and Awesome Day!!!  :)

It is 2:28 a.m., that gives me 1-1/2 hours to listen to music.  Woo Hoo!!!

So Many Ways To Go!!

This thing is going, and we have a good pace.  Can you imagine blogging, and really not thinking about what you write, because... well you have this promise that says everything you do will be for good.  :)  So yeah, I can go in any number of ways on any given day.

Should I bust the hippie's chops??  My hometown heroes Jen Gray and Leigh Kaufman hold a special special dear place in my heart.  They can do no wrong.  I haven't even read them for very long.  Beth Shutt is the most faithful of all my friends.  I am going to make a special trip, and yell like a bitch in heat if I see Jen Harrison.  You know Jen Harrison was the one who instigated the contact.  It has been a bumpy ride, but we see eye to eye.  :)  Want to know who is on my right hand side?  People who have reciprocated some kind of contact.  It hasn't always been in the open, but it has been reciprocated.  One little little little little something goes a long way.  I have every right and every reason to be just a little itsy bitsy teeny weeny bit shy.  Do you know even Becky once sent me an e-mail?  Becky of all people.  She also let me know in her own little way why my comments could not be shown in the open.  Same with the O'Tooles.  I don't need much, but I need a little.  A very little little little goes a long way.  :)   For those interested.

Oh and btw if I yell for Jen Harrison, and she doesn't acknowledge me.  I'll be tripping that bitch!!  :)   Ha ha Ha.  j/k.

We are going now.  We are on pace.  This shit is going to get a little nutty.  Those on board will have some fun.

Well, let me start off with my workout and go from there.  Well, wait, let me start somewhere else.  I am finally fed up with Mondays.  On Sundays I sleep in til at least 3:00 am, so I have trouble sleeping Sunday night.  :)  Ha Ha,  j/k I go back to bed til 7 or so usually.  I cannot fall asleep on Monday.  I try to take an animal tranquilizer on Sundays.  Usually equating to 876 beers give or take.  Carbing up from Saturday, but it doesn't help.  So I never get enough sleep.  I switched my Monday schedule now.  I am going in at 8:00am from now on instead of 5:00am.  It is getting cold out, and it isn't like I have anything fun planned on Mondays so I think that will work out.

Work out yesterday was my 6 mile loop.  Some of you know me well enough to know don't ever believe what my workout plan is, chances are it will be less than what I intended.  You should see the Winter.  I usually run on days I say I will though.  I didn't feel like 10 yesterday, and the 6 was Great.  Cool weather, pace was 8:40.  I may double up on the 6 today, since I didn't do the 10 yesterday.  This is great weather temps.

Plan from here on out is today, Wednesday, Saturday for a short/long run.  Then just some 3-4 milers here and there.  The work is done, just keep up a little bit of maintenance and see how it goes.

I have a couple more things I guess.  I am thinking of race day.  I am thinking of not looking at my watch at all most of the time. I am thinking of brakes, brakes, brakes for the first half plus.  Get to 16,17,18.  Man if I can feel new at 18 + that would be sooooooo HUGE!!!  That is my plan race day.  BRAKES BRAKES BRAKES!!  I'll be going faster than I think anyway.

Jeff Stark kept calling me Nancy boy yesterday???  wtf???  Oh well I know 3 Nancy'esesses.  Don't correct my grammar.  I don't know what the plural of Nancy is.  I like them all.  One is a blogger, you know she is great.  Close and W. are great too.  W. is some polish last name girl.  W. is a friend of our neighbor growing up.  @LinkaLaura618's Mom.  :)

That is it for today!!!!   :)

Now for real cya!!!   :)

p.s. the energy is a gift.  Do you realize that?  Some things you will learn on your own, and this perhaps is one.  I had it pre-hospital, and when things started up a couple winters ago.  Heimleblog, Journey, and now The Wait!!  :)   You would not believe how much is possible.  ALL!!!   :)   I wonder how many read Heimleblog.  :)

lol now for real cya!!!

You know I am not on Gina's feed on FB???  wtf??  Bitch!!!  :)

now for really really cya!!!   :)

It is Monday, and I am tired.  I need to get a 10 miler in today, but I may nap when I get home from work.  I may nap at work too, just have to find a good spot to hide.  :)

This is almost a list type of day.  It seems I have a lot, but we'll see.  Beware I may use a lot of names today.  :)  First off I stopped over at Beau's house around noon or so.  Beau and Charity have been having a tough time, so wanted to make sure they were o.k.  Beau's truck wasn't there, but he called me when he got out of the gym.  We went out for lunch watched some football, and had a couple beers.  We hung out Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this week.  Kinda like the old days... or at least last summer.  :)

While we were there we saw a couple, guy and girl, and another girl.  The one girl we have seen before, but I cannot remember for the life of me where.  She has a unique face.  Maybe Polynesian.  She was pretty, and I kept looking at her a bit to see if I can remember where I knew her from.  No such luck.  The other girl looked almost like blogger Olga.  She had the same type of glasses and everything.  She was funny.  She kept busting her boyfriend for watching the Dang Lions game.  She had a good sense of humor.  We talked with them all a bit, and I imagined the conversation went about the same as if Blogger Olga and I ever met and talked.  You have to watch out for them O'Tooles, you never know when they are going to start up another blog.  I think they each have about 15 going currently.  Hard to keep up. :)

After I was home for a bit, I realized I didn't want to be home anymore.  I went back to Beau's house, and hung with him and Charity for a bit.  Remember when I said on some of my bad days I could always hang out with Beau and Charity and things would always be a bit better?  I think maybe this weekend I was able to help them out probably in the same way.  You never know these things, but I hope so.  It was a pretty good weekend, but I am tired.  BOOOOOOOO!!

You know what is kind of funny??  I am not supposed to use Olga's name in this blog.  Ha Ha!!  Too Bad!!  Olga Olga Olga.  I am not using the Olga's name who I am not supposed to use, I am using a different one, so that is fair then.  :)

Well I think I am in a pretty good mood today, although like I said I am tired.  I wanna sleep sleep sleep.  BOOOOOOOOO!!!

Congrats to Matt and Dan for finishing their Twin Cities Marathon.  I am not sure what Matt's time is.  I'll have to check.  My cousin Rudy was going to run it but moved to Maine instead for his job.  Looks like he will be an East Coast runner now.

I think that is about it today!!!   :)

Thanks for reading!!!  :)

p.s.  I wonder about the future.  I know I said fall, and I know it will be fall.  But is it A Spiritual fall, or this Thanksgiving.  Things seem to be moving slow, so that what makes me wonder.  For a while now I thought Thanksgiving.  We'll see.  I am not nervous, I'll tell you that.  Do you know what I am talking about??  I wonder about that too.

Now for real cya!!!  :)

If I Had A Title...

I'd title in the morning, I'd title in the evening, all over this land.  I'd title out danger... I'd title out something something... I'd title out love between my brothers and my sisters... all over this land.

You know you like that song.  Don't deny it.  :)

First off, I am going to freaking bed after this update.  It is 3:00 in the dang morning.  :)  I have a lot to get through too.  So we'll just try to go through it in some kind of order.  :)   Wish me luck.

First off I want to give a big shout out to Cole.  He is Kim's son, and he had a huge huge huge P.R. yesterday.  20:08 on the 5K.  I think that is a couple minutes off his old P.R.  I am not sure how old he is, I think early teens, if not pre-teen.  He did have one other course shortened quicker time I believe.  That was 4 minutes, but everyone thought the course was short.  :)   I know about those.  :)

My run yesterday was pretty good.  I wanted to just get in a nice soft 15 miler, but "The Man with Many First Names" decided to have a great day.  I kept thinking about things, and every couple minutes I would find myself about 5 steps or so behind him.  That Bastard!!!  :)  I logged it out as 15 miles @ 8:38 pace I think.  I am not sure about the mileage, but the pace seems about right.  I think our first 5 miles were like 8:50 or so, and we picked it up.

You know what maybe I don't have a ton of stuff to write about.  I will let you know what makes Alan so great as a coach of a running group.  We ran the course yesterday.  It was me Bob and Jeff-Steve-Scott  (not sure of the order) and we ran the course.  Bob is running Chicago, so he didn't even have to run with us.  Everyone else had other running plans.  A couple guys from the group are running the marathon in the twin cities.  Alan ALWAYS goes out of the way to do different things.  He thinks up new workouts, and every session is always different.  The Gazelle running group puts water coolers out.  Alan is with us every step of the way.  That is why we ALWAYS come back.  :)  Thanks Alan for everything!!!  :)

Now this here is pretty exciting.  I think I am going to the Chicago Marathon next weekend with Alan and Matt.  Matt is running Twin Cities today.  Bob is running Chicago, so I will see him.  Guess what pace he is starting out at??  3:10.  You know what that means??  I may see IN PERSON one of the bloggers I read.  Jen H.  WOW!!  That would be something huh?  Will I say hi or be shy?  :) ... to be determined.   Bob is like Jen in 3:10 may be a bit slow for him, but a good pace for at least the first half or so.

Bob said something yesterday that I have been thinking about for a while.  He said...due to the heat.... he hasn't felt his running was all that great.  When the temps cooled he realized... WOW!!!  maybe I am in pretty good shape.  Like I said a tough summer of training.  Hot Hot Hot!!!  :)

It will be interesting to see how we all do.  :)

That is it for today!!!  :)

Best Day Ever!!

It was just a good day yesterday.  Work was kind of boring, but on Fridays I get to do my own thing, so I got a lot done.  Lisa and I went to lunch like we have been doing.  I had a catfish sandwich.  BTW I think catfish is definitely one of my favorite fishes.  There is no fishy taste at all.  Salmon is my favorite always, but catfish rocks too.  It is one of those things at this house though where not everyone likes fish, so I don't make it much.  It is definitely on the menu sometime this week though.

Later on in the afternoon I hung out with Beau and Jacob.  You know I am not sure if you know the story or not.  How the 3 of us met.  I think I was a Plumbing Manager for like 3 years or so, and they both started working in my dept. around the same time.  So we will say maybe 1998.  Maybe later, I am really not sure of the time.  That is how we met, and all of us have stayed friends since.  Jacob did a couple year stint in Florida, but has been back for a couple years.  So we just hung, had a couple laughs.  Jacob is recovering from a Surgery on Monday, so he is a bit hobbled up.

Also there is someone who I really respect, and we have been having troubles seeing eye to eye on some things.  Now we do, so that just about put me over the happy threshold.  Too much happiness??

Now it looks like something else popped up dammit!!!  Oh well, hopefully I don't have to worry about that too much.

That is it for today!!!  :)

Thursdays After Track Are So Weird!!

Now you know I have this weird wake up early thing going on... for whatever reason.  It just baffles me why after the track I get so very little sleep.  I wake up earlier than the alarm clock would go off, if I set one too.  How weird is that?  I blog, and then get ready for work, and am absolutely beat all day!!  Yesterday I left a little early, because I worked 9 + hours the two previous days.  I got on my bike to go home, and was hit with a stiff wind on the way back.  I did what any other normal person would do.  I rode no handed for a bit to tell all the twitterworld I had to ride home against the wind.  :)  Then I had to explain to @MissMarilynn that my nipples were fine.  Then I thought oh God what is that going to look like to people.  :)  Darn you Twitter!!!  :)

There really wasn't much going on today.  Lisa picked up a closing shift to help out.  I got home, and she said, "NOOOOOOOOOO"  !!  It was a beautiful day out, and she was going into work, and I was home for the day.  I said what are you all worked up about?  We are both off of work "right now".  She didn't find that funny, because she had to go into work in just a little while.  I fell asleep for a bit.  It was a hard sleep.  A sleep filled with drool.  The kind of drool that ends up on your wife's pillow.  :)  SHHHHHHH   don't tell her.  :)

That is it for today!!!   :)
