Since I Am Up...

Good Morning all.  How's it going??   Me, I am doing pretty good.  Well, we finally finished our last two weeks.  We are still alive and kicking.  We bought a new for us car yesterday.  Here are the numbers.  We would have spent ~$2000 to fix up our Malibu.  The guy at our garage said it wouldn't be worth it.  They could fix the engine, but it might last only 6 mos.  So we had to find a new for us one.  We went to a couple respected local dealers here, and the kind of car we wanted was all in the $5-6000 range.  So yuck.  Onto Craigslist.  We saw a few priced good.  We bought the first one we looked at.  It was just over $3000 out the door.  It had 4 new tires, runs way better than the Malibu has for years, and it looks sharp.  There are a few minor imperfections in the body, but just plastic fender stuff etc...  We could fix it for $500 but we won't.  I feel good about the purchase. 

The guy who sold it to us works at a new dealership he opened up with a financial adviser.  This guy sold cars for a long time, and he took a steep pay cut to work with the financial adviser.  He just had a baby last January, and his outlook on life is a bit different.  So all in all we got a car for $3000 that any other place would have been $5-6,000.  Paid with cash too, so we own it outright.  No car payments, or anything like that.   WOO HOOO!! 

That couples with the busy season, so I am working overtime, so hopefully we can add a bit to our savings, which we never do.   :)   One can always hope.   :)

It is a good day when your wife is happy, and you feel good too. 

Other than that not much going on.  I know I have had a couple doozy ones this week, and you never know when they will come.  Me either.
