Lisa had the talk with her Mom. I guess that is how it was supposed to go. I said a prayer a while ago about being honest in a nicer way with Jackie. We had that talk, and she didn't listen. Lisa had the talk last night. I am assuming Jackie will listen to Lisa. She must have a guy issue. I don't know her history or anything as a child. She was adopted. All we want Jackie to do is what she can. When she lives here she does less than she can. We don't want the impossible, just the possible.
Me?? I try to push the envelope. I see how far I can go, what I can do. I am not done building, and am not done improving.
Yesterday 6.2 miles@ 8:47 pace. The 4 kids gave me a weird look when they saw me running at 3: 10 in the morning. That kind of crap gets me motivated. The stick I tripped over got a swift kick, but I was fine. Lisa is going to worry about my late night/early morning runs now, but ohhhhh well.
I'll be more careful. :)
Those Tuesday morning runs are good, cause it gives me a whole 1-1/2 day to recover from the run. That is nice. Speed work tonight. Same hill I did speed work on at 2:30 am a while ago. Start with hills to build strength. That is how Alan does it.
Yes I am stoked baby. Marathon training starts up now!!! WOO HOO!!!
That is it for today!!!
Really glad Lisa had the talk. I feel better about it all. At this point a talk from me or Brian would not help at all. We are fucking truck drivers. So is Gina.... one of the reasons I like her. :) Unfortunately so are my brother's kids Brandon and Marilynn. Not sure if John likes it so much, but we can throw a couple crappy words around that is for sure. They seem to like the "F" one quite a bit. :)
I'll try to keep this "G" rated, but there will be times.... I may not too. We'll see!! :)
Hope you all have a great and AWESOME day!!! :)
xo's !!! :)
Love You all!!! :)
almost forgot. My road bike is fixed. Pro-style... whatever the hell that means. I know it means $20 more!! :) glad to have it back though. My Sundays are not complete without a good looooonnnnnngggg ride!! :)

Monday Blahs
I had a blah day yesterday. I was at work, and putting in the time, but I swear I did not get hardly anything done. I don't know what is up with that. At work, I work. I mess around and talk shit a lot, but just felt like I wasn't concentrating. Oh well whatever right?
Anyway here is our life right now. The mother-in-law is back with us. YAYYYY!! not. It isn't just me. She is a buzz kill for her whole family. I just don't personally have much in common with types like her, and in all honesty have nothing to talk with her about. I ignore her most of the time. That is how I deal with people. I ignore the ones who really just annoy me until it is too much. Then they usually get a nice heaping helping of my dickness. :) No middle ground with me. That being said if she was funny or something then that would be something. She isn't. For the life of me I can't remember anything she has ever said that ever interested me in any shape way or form. She has no humor. Gotta have humor, it helps kill a lot of ills. I told her as long as she is able she can stay here, but you know what?? Her daughter doesn't want her here. She is alone in her own little world.
Any point here? no not really, just explaining things I guess. Yesterday, like I said, or think I said.... don't remember and don't feel like proof reading. :) I was off. Finished work, biked home, and cut the grass. I beat the rain... it never came. ;) I just sat outside, and chilled. Looked at all the green. I then ate dinner, and went to bed. I was so blah, I just didn't feel like being awake anymore.
That being said, going to bed so early means I am up so early, and I have time to get a 6 miler in before work. I had my eye on the 6 miler before I went to bed last night too. I thought if I by chance wake up before my mental 2:00 a.m. wake up, then I can get the 6 miler in before work. Woo Hoo!! That is what I am going to do now. :)
cya!!!! :)
Hope everyone has a great and awesome day!!! :)

D-R-A-M-A
Mother in law is coming back today. I have nothing nice to say about this!! She will not make Lisa unhappy!! I will not let it happen.
Many of you know the story. Her family is being honest with her now. Brutally honest. She needs it, because she doesn't listen.
My computer doesn't turn on. For some reason. :)
Phone blogging!! :)
Hope everyone has a great and awesome day!! :)
Xo's :)
Love you all!!! :)
P.S. 3.14 miles @ 9:09 pace. Legs were sluggish.
Cya!!! :)
computer works now. Glad it shut off. My original draft had a bit more colorful language than needed to be. :) I work at a lumberyard, and I have the 2nd most colorful language there. The English dude kicks my ass as far as that is concerned. He is angry though. I am just gifted!!! :)

I Am So Smart Aren't I???
I had my plan. I was going to stick with it. Ummmm, when it is humid out, throw everything out the window. What I learned yesterday is if you go out a little too fast on a humid day you cannot recover. I know when it is cool out I can tweak my pace a little down to recover pretty quickly, or tweak it up a bit if things seem easy. When it is humid out there is no recovery. I kept trying to tweak it down-down-down . No recovery in sight.
My first mile was 6:58. It didn't feel too bad, but I wanted to feel better at mile two, so I started tweaking my pace down. I never started feeling that much better. I hit mile 2 at 14:21. :). I still didn't feel all that great. I kept tweaking down, because I knew the course had a 1/2 mile straight away, and I wanted to push hard there. No recovery at all. I pushed the last 1/2 mile, because I honestly wasn't sure if I could hit sub 22:00 or not. When I saw my clock hit 22:00 I slowed down for a bit, and then sped up again and finished it. 22:19 was my official time. My alias was Mike Harju. He's got some work to do if he wants to P.R. a 5K now. :)
I ran with Mike, who's alias was Dan B. I'll save that name to protect the innocent. Mike did great. A sub 9:00 pace, which is slow for him, but his "running" training is off this year due to Hockey, work, injury.... you name it. I think that was a hell of a race for him all things considered.
I learned something about racing in humidity. It sucks!!! I did the best I could for the conditions given. Not too disappointed at all. It is just a race anyway right?? I napped a bit after my 5K which means the effort was definitely there. Then I had a lazy day of watching Soccer, and the Sox beat the Cubs again. U.S. tied England in soccer. I think we outplayed them, but they are a dangerous team. They can counter quickly. Rooney was non-existent, and their goalie let in a softie. :)
That is it!!! Pretty fun day for me!!! :)
Hope everyone has a great and awesome day!!! :)

Trust
That is the game plan. I had a sub: 22:00 5K on Thanksgiving. Which by the way I remember was another tough time. I was writing the Journey at that time. Anyway thoughts for another time. I remember that race thinking I was going waaaay toooo slow to get my 22:00. I kept the trust, and was going to let the chips fall where they may. I think I was 7:10 and 14:20 at the 1-2 mile markers, and had plenty of kick to incrementally up the pace. Course was shortened, so it wasn't a true 5K. The Diemer course has been the same since they have done it, so no mistakes.
I am just going to trust my pace. Realize I am probably going faster than I think I am. I will listen to my breathing... perhaps with the music going at the same time. :) Sub 22:00 for me is all about what happens from mile 2 on. I need to get to mile 2 comfortably uncomfortable, and feel like I can push a bit. Those splits at mile 1 and 2 are important, but feeling good at mile 2 is everything!! Sub:22:00 is all about mile 2-3.1. In my honest opinion. That is my plan anyway, and that is how I am going to race it!!!
It will be fun, it will be exciting, and I will be determined. To me the 5K is soooo hard to P.R. cause it is short, and the pace is fast. Marathon is probably harder just cause the distance. It is an easy pace, but the problem is all kinds of crap can go wrong once the miles start adding up. I know all about that.
Guess that is about it. This one is really going to be a hard one for me. I will do my best though. I will stick with my plan, and see what happens. There always is that Blueberry Fest 5K in August. That is a pretty easy course too. That being said, I am still determined to do my best!!!
That is it for today. It is game time now, so a bit more serious, than my normal looney self. :)
Hope you all have a great and AWESOME day!! ;)

Lisa picked up a late shift to help someone out or something, so she went in late, and I still left early. I had the house to myself. I sat outside, listened to music, and burned my dinner. :D
It was great!!! Well, except the house smells like shit now!!! HA HA!!!

Not So Good
First off here was my workout. You will notice the times are not what I would have liked.
Mile warm up. 8:56

400--1:42
800--3:39

800--3:36
400--1:46
400--1:46
400--1:47
800--3:38
A couple notes. I didn't go all out on the track. I didn't kick in my last 100's or whatever to try and get a good time. I was just trying to get a pace. I know I need to be at like 14:14 at the two mile mark at least, and have some left for some kick. I haven't checked the weather, but I heard it is supposed to be warm. You know what? There was never any question in my mind I would break 22:00 at the Diemer. That workout has me wondering. Should be fun though. We'll see what happens.
Same old thing. I worked on concrete floors all day, and ran 3 days in a row, and 4 of 5. 27 miles or so in those days, so now I will have two easy days, so the legs should feel o.k. To be honest they felt pretty good last night. We will see!! FUCK!! I may be nervous for this race!! Ha Ha!! I always knew the 5K is the hardest damn race!!! :) Should be fun!!! :)
Other than that, Marathon training starts next week!! Woo Hoo!!! Work will mount and so will the miles. That is the one thing isn't it?? Being in training. That is the best. Races are fun, and always fun to have your eye on the race you are training for, but it sure is fun being in training... at least for me!!
Okay, I guess that is about it today!!
Hope you all have a great day!!!! :)
xo's!!! :)
changing some shit around to keep you on your toes!!! Ha ha!!!
Really though, hope everyone has an awesome awesome day!!!
Okay Okay!! Love you all too!!!! :)
p.s. Good to be a Chicagoan. We may have made a bit of news last night. Now on to the White Sox!!!
